Journey into the dark room
I longed to feel the power of the water beneath me, and all around me.
I took out my digital camera and proceeded to take shot after shot of the brilliant colours of the waves. 275 great photos of waves, that I took home, loaded on my computer and felt… nothing in particular. I was still feeling passion for the art of expression, however I suddenly felt I was lacking in a total process.
I had film and film cameras hanging around my house, and started to look at them with a new perspective. Is there an art to slowing down? I thought about the early years of photography and how much time and effort would go into one portrait or landscape photo. How could I make my effort, vision, and perspective more detailed, thought out, and intentional?
